WE ARE MISSING YOU ALL
As you will know from listening to the news, it has been announced that schools may be in a position to re-open on June 1st for pupils in Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 6.
All staff and governors would like nothing better than to have our school open and our classrooms full of happy, smiling children. But our first priority has to be the safety of all the children and staff.
We will be taking advice from the government, the Local Authority and the Education Unions. Any decisions made about re-opening will be based primarily on keeping children and staff safe.
At this moment nothing has really changed. School is open for, children of key workers when there is no other option for childcare amongst the immediate family. Children at home will continue to receive home learning activities from their class teacher. (We hope you are managing to complete the work, please use our Facebook page or email school – cockfield@durhamlearning.net if you require any further assistance with home learning activities)
We will keep you updated with any further developments.
A SPECIAL MESSAGE FOR YEAR 6
As you know this week you should have been completing your Sats tests.
We don’t need tests to tell us how great you all are. Those of us who really know you, knew that already!
Everyone at home and school is immensely proud of you and everything you have achieved so far in life. In your years in our school you have matured into bright, caring, intelligent people who are well prepared for the next school. Think of the fun you have had, the friends you’ve made, the challenges you have overcome and the memories you will keep with you for the rest of your life.
We are really missing you and would love to see you all before the Summer holidays, but only when it is safe for you to return.
Look after yourselves and your families.
Love,
Miss Heatherington and all the staff
