Unfortunately, we have had an increase in the number of confirmed COVID19 cases in our school community. If they increase further, this could mean that we may need to take additional measures to keep our community safe and we will keep parents informed at every stage.
Please can we ask once again that if your child is unwell in any way they stay at home and take a home test to rule out COVID before coming to school. We are finding that those children who are testing positive often start with a headache, sore throat or sickness before developing any of the main symptoms listed below.
If they have any of the main COVID symptoms then they must isolate and take a PCR test.
The main symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) are:
a high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature)
a new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)
a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – this means you’ve noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal
If your child has any of these symptoms, get a PCR test (test that is sent to a lab) to check if you have coronavirus and stay at home until you get your result, even if the symptoms are mild.
Thank you for your help and support with this.
