For the autumn term class 3s topic is ‘Living things and their habitats’. As part of this topic the children during a Science lesson explored outside what living things they could find and where they lived. The children worked in pairs and used their observation sheet to record their ideas. The children found worms, spiders, slugs, snails and we even saw birds. We discussed why we might not have found all of the mini-beasts we hoped for, this was because of the weather. The children then came back into the classroom where they grouped the animals and made their own classification keys. They tested their classification keys on each other to see if they would work! Although we had lots of muddy shoes, we had a great afternoon!
