Mummifying a Tomato

Class 3 have been learning about the ancient Egyptians. As part of the topic they have been learning about mummification. Today, the children mummified a tomato to see what it would be like to mummify someone! The children scooped all of the insides and explained how if it was a person, they would put the organs in separate Canopic jars. The children have covered their tomatoes in salt and have put them in plastic bags ‘a tomb’ and will check if their predictions are correct in 21 days! The children at the end of the task then wrote instructions for the mummification process.
