This week, as part of their Ancient Greek topic, Class 3 have made Phyllo Cheese Triangles also known as Tiropitas. In Greek this is spelt τυρóπιτα and pronounced tee-RO-pee-taare.
Tiropitas are triangles of layers of filo pastry filled with a cheese and egg mixture which are popular for breakfast and as snacks in Greece. There are many, many different variations using different kinds of cheese for the filling; in our recipe we used cheddar and mozzarella.
The children enjoyed their cookery very much and although some were reluctant to try our finished product at first, most of us had a taste and came back for seconds!
Well done Robins!
