Class 4 have started a new unit of work on Rocks and Fossils. They sorted a variety of rocks into two different categories: Manmade Rocks and Natural Rocks. Then we discussed how natural rocks can be sorted into igneous rocks, sedimentary rocks and metamorphic rocks. The children really enjoyed looking at various different rocks: it sparked a whole class discussion about the different colours, textures and weights of rocks.
